With an asking price of 34.5 million euros, the epic Willow Beach estate on Lake Austin, in Texas, comes first in the ranking.
'The demand for homes in recreational locations such as lake districts is increasing, especially in the luxury segment,” says CEO of Engel & Völkers AG Sven Odia. 'The ongoing coronavirus crisis has been a contributing factor here, reflected in discussions with prospective buyers, as well as the classic wish to own a property surrounded by nature, considerations such as security, comfort and luxury amenities are becoming more and more important.
'Consequently, prices are rising around the world for properties in regions considered natural idylls that can serve as a safe haven.
'Over the coming years, we expect prices on the luxury property market to continue to rise. Prominent locations at one with nature and with outstanding exclusive facilities are being positively received by buyers.'
