See inside this tiny house situated on a volcanic lava field in Hawaii
Tour this unexpectedly stylish property - complete with views of Pele's Orange Glow and the Pacific ocean
We're taking minimalistic-style notes from this tiny home in the middle of the Kalapana lava bed, near the base of the Kīlauea Volcano in Pāhoa, Hawaii.
The Phoenix House, which is available for rent on Airbnb, is aptly advertised as an 'off-grid tiny-house gem' that stands above a lava bed in the sunniest and driest part of the island.
Its exposed location offers guests views across the black lava fields and Kīlauea - one of the five most active volcanoes on the main island. Visitors can also indulge the untamed nature surrounding the property and witness Pele's Orange Glow, Hawaii's fire-blazed goddess, whose vivid power captivates all who sleep in the heart of this unorthodox postcode.
The property also boasts oceanic views across the North Pacific - in case you hadn't already fallen for the rich volcanic landscape this home calls its back garden.
Beyond the raw and rocky exteriors, the interior of this Hawaiian haven is equally as memorable. Upon entering this volcanic sanctuary, guests are immersed in the minimal and naturally illuminated style of its living room, and kitchen space with its contrasting dark wood floor and light-tinged soft furnishings.
Almost everything in Phoenix House is designed with space-saving tactics in mind- from the miniature appliances filling the kitchen space to the chic features in its aesthetically crafted bathroom - complete with a shower and surprisingly spacious wash area. There is also a lofted bedroom with a queen-size bed and a scenic view, naturally.
The property was designed by celebrated architect Will Beilharz - Co-Founder of the nature-based company - ArtisTree.

Despite its serene, secluded surroundings, this tiny home is only a short hop to Hawaii's signature black sandy shoreline and is 20 minutes South of Pahoa Town for the days you would rather dine out instead of cooking in your tiny yet accessible kitchen.
'We love sharing this amazing magical home at the feet of the world's most active volcano,' owner Jade shared on Airbnb, where the property has an almost perfect rating.
What can we say, but sleeping on a live volcano has never looked quite so stylish.
