See the designs of tomorrow at New Designers 2019
Head to Islington to meet the next generation of designers at the New Designers exhibition this summer, where they will be launching their wares, setting trends and discussing radical new ideas in a two week celebration of the future of design.
Taking place in two, four day parts, each devoted to a different set of creative disciplines,New Designers takes place at the Business Design Centre, London from 26 June – 6 July.
3,000 creative minds representing every area of contemporary design, have been selected from over 170 creative courses from the UK and beyond.
Having launched the careers of some of the UK’s leading designers, including Bethan Gray, Jay Osgerby, Thomas Heatherwick and Lee Broom, New Designers is the place tolook out for new and interesting craft and design.
Amongst this years's highlights are One year In, which is a chance to see and buy original pieces directly from designers, studios and entrepreneurs who have recently launched their own businesses. This year it's curated by Emily Skinner, the designer, maker and founder of innovative design studio, Evan James Design.
The 2019 line up sees designers responding to social, political and environmental challenges, and exploring the use of alternative materials from mycelium to coffee granules.
If you're inspired to create your own designs, hands on printing workshops will take place throughout New Designers courtesy of 3rd Rail Print Space, London’s biggest open access screen printing studio. The workshops will form part of the exhibition’s talks and events programme, with guest speakers from across the design industry.
