We predict that this Moroccan-inspired seating from Habitat will be big in 2020
It's a key piece in the new collection
There's no denying that sustainable and eco-conscious design is a hot topic right now.And with the new decade kicking off with sustainability in the spotlight,it's no surprise that rattan, cane, and other natural materials are hotter than ever for home interiors.
Rattan, cane, bamboo and other natural materials have all seen a resurgence in homes last year, and previews of 2020 lines indicate there's much more to come.

Biodegradable, plastic-free and eco-friendly, there's no denying these natural materials are having a moment. But that's not the only reason these materials are trending in the home. Pinterest have revealed a surge for exotic inspired living spaces, with searches for this style upby 2080 per cent.Featuring heavily are exotic inspired rattan pieces in the home.
Nailing two trends in one, Habitat's 2020 lookbook revealed a stand-out piece that's predicted to sell out fast; a hand-woven rattan chaise longue.

Named 'Sura', the Morrocan-inspired exotic piece would look great both indoors or outdoors, and we can't wait to get our hands on one.
Designer Matthew Long says: 'Sura is a homage to the rattan designs from the mid-century era, an architectural piece that is meant to be given space and appreciated for its form. I wanted to design a chaise that showcased the fluidity that rattan allows us as a material but still had obvious manipulated, structured form instead of it becoming an overtly curvaceous, organic design.'
'The skinny black metal legs add to this sense of structure, the chaise appearing to float and its simple, natural finish emphasising the material and allowing you to add pattern and colour through textiles.'

It's not just natural materials that are predicted to be everywhere this year, but earthy tones, too.
Think sun-scorched hues including warm terracottas, saffron and burnt reds – all have a warming quality and offer a sense of connection to the natural world.
Habitat's SS20 collection is clearly aiming to please. The rest of its SS20 collection fits in with the theme, with each piece bringing bright sunshine vibes into interiors. Expect plenty of colour and pattern reminiscent of warmer climates – golden yellow sun, coral sunsets, earthy tan pigments, palm green and azure blue sea and sky.
