The colour that's trending this season

For the past few years, grey has dominated theneutral interiors palette. But sandy shades are back, and proving to be anything but boring.

Now don't get us wrong, we love grey, but we've found ourselves increasingly drawntowards the warmer, friendlier tones of oatmeal and stonewashed linen.Think fleshy toned, earthy jute, canvas, wool, wood and hemp – which, face it, all sound way nicer than beige.

Not convinced?Beige tones have even been making waves on the catwalk.Evolving from sleek and streamlined at Swiss fashion house Akris to safari-feel at Loewe, we spotted a smothering of earthy shades sauntering their way down the spring/summer catwalk.

Wiping the slate clean in the home, Perch & Parrow’s Brooks pouffe has sit-on-and-sink away factor by the bucketload, closely rivalled by Emu’s indoor/outdoor Terramare garden chair. Love the look and want to rock it underfoot? Lace up with Converse’s canvas-covered Chuck Taylors for a minimal but mighty style statement.

The shade feels most modern and fresh when paired with crisp white and black accents, or use it to create a pared-down, rustic feel with stonewashed linens, oak, rattan and jute.

Ready to give beige a second chance? Here are some of our favourite picks that prove that barely-there neutrals can really pack a punch.
