Inside A Glam High Rise Apartment In Florida
This small apartment might sit in a high rise new-build, but it packs a punch with colour blocking, wallpapers and glitzy details.
PROPERTY
A small, open-plan apartment in a new build in downtown Saint Petersburg, Florida. The overall building leans on the more modern and contemporary side, but the owners of this apartment asked interior designer Lisa Gilmore to use a more traditional mix use of furniture styles, key lighting pieces, textures, patterns and bold uses of colour. The result is a modern home with a traditional undertone.
DEN
What was once a white box room was transformed with custom millwork including wainscotting details and a raspberry pink shade of high gloss paint. The room is now a sumptuous den for escaping to. Not only is it a visual explosion of colour and truly unexpected, you really feel like you are being wrapped up in a big raspberry hug when you walk inside.
This space was intended to be used for watching movies, cosy days and when the owners' children had friends over. All the soft furnishings have some dose of raspberry involved. From the locally made ottoman designed by Lisa Gilmore, to the sofa bed and the curtains. The black chandelier is the crowing piece.

LIVING ROOM
For the design of the living room and dining room, the owners really wanted it to feel chic and unfussy, and allow it to complement the water view outside. Lisa Gilmore opted for varying shades of whites, creams, greys, champagne tones and black.
The lighting is quite light and airy, almost dancing overhead, again not to distract from the view.

DINING AREA
A classic chandelier design, and upholstered wingback dining chairs create an elegant, grown-up vibe in the dining area.

KITCHEN
The kitchen design is the piece de resistance, yet it also doesn't overpower the space. The custom-made tiled splash back from the Ann Sacks Kelly Wearstler collection adds print and pattern, while a brass coloured extractor hood ramps up the glam factor.
The white kitchen features brass door handles, and was painted with visible brushstrokes to stop the white cupboards feeling too flat.

MASTER BEDROOM
The bedrooms in the condo are rather small, so scale was key. Lisa Gilmore decided to opt for small bedside tables and wall lights. The fun comes via the varying textures and tones.
Subtle gold detailing in the curtain fabric highlights the brass accents in the lighting and accessories.
