Fresh colours and patterns for floors and walls
BATH BLISS
We all yearn for time away from the crowds and while we hope that’s a given during a soak in the tub, splash bathroom walls in hues from Crown Paints’ Immersive palette to take disconnecting one step further. Six blue shades (from midnight to mist) represent the tranquillity of the ocean, with Teal new for 2019. After all, colours aren’t just colours at Crown – they’re moods. Pass the bubble bath...
Floor show
Launching exclusively at John Lewis & Partners, the diffusion line from rug supremo Luke Irwin has us excited.
It has 11 hand-knotted designs in easy-to-live-with plain colours, each with 10 per cent of the sari silk left undyed to ensure the surface ‘flickers with life’. Silk rugs, from£1,800, available April 2019.
FLOCK TO IT
From its London Wallpapers V collection, Little Greene’s St James’s Park damask was modelled on a pattern found in Marlborough House – a whopping mansion built by Sir Christopher Wren for the Duchess of Marlborough (a close confidante of Queen Anne). Now those are some walls we wish could talk. Add a subtle, light-to-dark ombré effect and suddenly it’s fit for 2019.
IN BLOOM
With zigzag print knitwear its bread and butter, no one does feel-good fashion quite like Missoni. It’s little surprise then that its homeware line is every bit as fabulous; at just over a metre wide, we’re smitten with this hand-tufted wool and viscose mix Botanica rug, modelled on the passiflora plant for fashion-forward floors, £638, Missoni Home at gomodern.co.uk.
INTERNATIONALDELIVERY
Don’t you just love it when a sought-after but impossible-to-source overseas brand makes its way to Blighty? Exclusive to George Spencer Designs in the UK, NY fabric company ZAK+FOX has launched The Wunderkammer wallpaper collection – a cabinet-of-curiosities line with influences as far- reaching as West African cloth and Japanese prints. We think it’s all kinds of, erm, wunder-ful.
