Ottolenghi's new tableware collection is the kaleidoscopic carnival your kitchen deserves
The collaboration is a feast for the senses – served up from Ottolenghi, Bisignano, and Belgian design label Serax
Whether it's that late Friday night craving or a sweet Sunday breakfast, our kitchens play host to some of the most delightful moments of the week – but does your tableware do these rituals justice?
Enter FEAST – the 100 piece collection results from a vibrant collaboration between chef Yotam Ottolenghi, Italian artist Ivo Bisignano, and designers Serax – a vibrant trio that has just reshaped our modern kitchen ideas.
The tableware collection is a playful celebration of Ottolenghi's ethos and is designed to promote social gatherings and, of course, the consumption of good food.
The whimsical assemblage of plates, bowls, cups, glasses, cutlery is said to be a natural step for the food artist who has already climbed to the top of London's culinary scene with his Middle-Eastern food creations.
These pieces are all distinguished by two primary motifs: their abstract vegetable shapes that pay homage to the chef's expertise – and a statement 'O’-shaped brushstroke – representing 'Ottolenghi,' naturally.
Bisignano's spirited sketches exhibit daring color combinations that can find a place in every style of interiors – whether you're looking for a traditional tablescape or bold modern home decor ideas.
As an unrivaled table curator, Yotam Ottolenghi emphasizes the collection's audacious aesthetic that will bring pockets of indulgence to any kitchen or dining space.
'Alongside our newly found co-creators in Serax, we have tried to tell the Ottolenghi story in objects,' Ottolenghi says. 'It is a story of the tension between the earthy and the sophisticated, between passion and refinement, tradition and novelty. Ostensible opposites, existing together in dynamic harmony.'
'The plates are like different spices,' Bisignano adds. 'It is the combination and proportion of the different components that will define the flavor.'
Ottolenghi has your cocktails covered, too, as he is simultaneously launching two glasses that are meant for wine, cocktails, or your favorite soft drink, complete with the statement 'O' design etched into the base. Our weekly rituals are about to feel even more glorious.
FEAST is now available via Ottolenghi’s website, and our future dinner parties are very excited. We expect this collection will rewrite kitchen color trends for 2021– and beyond.
