deVOL's new TV show with The Magnolia Network launches today – this is how you can watch it wherever you are
When deVOL join forces with Chip and Joanna Gaines, it's a match made in heaven
At the peak of the kitchen design industry, deVOL has created some of the most timeless – and stylish – spaces on both sides of the Atlantic. So, when the classic English kitchen manufacturers announced they were joining forces with Texas-based icons Chip and Joanna Gaines, we were very excited.
Launching today, August 6th, on Chip and Joanna's Magnolia Network, 'For the Love of Kitchens,' offers a glimpse into the everyday lives of deVOL's designers, carpenters, and artisan makers to give interior enthusiasts a look at the intricacies behind the kitchen powerhouse. The series will consist of eight episodes, however, be warned: you may have reshaped your modern kitchen ideas before the first one finishes.
Since Chip and Joanna first wandered into deVOL's New York showroom more than two years ago, the manufacturers have worked alongside The Magnolia Network to create a show that tells the story behind their kitchens whilst documenting the journey behind their most notable renovation projects.
To watch from the US, you will need to register for a discovery+ account and choose the option that includes 'Entertainment.' After creating access to discovery+, you can view the show via the Magnolia Network channel from this morning.
In the UK, you can also sign up for a discovery+ account – however; Sky Q customers can access a free 12-month subscription to discovery+ where you can watch the series. When you have purchased a subscription, return to the discovery+ homepage and view all channels until you see the Magnolia Network. The first episode is available from approximately midday onwards.
The Magnolia Network is not available beyond the US and UK, so you will need to wait a little longer to watch the series; however, deVOL has their 'fingers crossed that this will change very soon.'
What can we expect from the first episode? Named 'A Kitchen with Form and Function,' the show's debut follows the renovation of a Victorian home whose interiors draw from its local pub in Wimbledon, London.
Meanwhile, episode two visits Livingetc favorites House of Hackney to create 'A Kitchen Fit For a Castle.' Notebooks at the ready – a partnership with House of Hackney, deVOL, and Magnolia Network can only mean one thing – an abundance of wood kitchen ideas.
'For the Love of Kitchens will give viewers a glimpse into the journey of a deVOL customer, from designing a kitchen with a Kitchen Designer, through to the making of the cupboards and finally, the expert installation,’ explains the Creative Director of deVOL, Helen Parker.
‘Each episode will have a really beautiful vision of how a kitchen comes together and all the excitement and creativity that happens every step along the way.’
Helen reveals that the program will always conclude with a ‘beautiful set of images and a final photoshoot reveal of the kitchen, some tiny, some in castles,’ – all of which are unsurprisingly inspiring.
The story cleverly intermingles the designing and making of exclusive hand-crafted products here at Cotes Mill (above) with our talented artisans, showing detailed techniques with metal and clay. These products will eventually take pride of place in the final kitchen,’ Helen adds.
‘All mixed together, this is a wonderful insight into the people of deVOL, all the beautiful things they make, and how their creativity has made them so much more than just a kitchen company.’
We plan to spend the rest of the weekend rewatching the first episode and indulging in these interior design ideas. Happy viewing.
