A First Look At River Island's debut homeware collection
High street favourite River Islandis branching out into something brand new – introducingRI Home, the fashion brand's debut homeware collectionwhich arrives in stores and online this autumn.
The fashion giant will be taking on high street rivals such as Zara, Next, Oasis, Monsoon and H&M (who have all had ahuge success with their interior ranges) by launching its own homeware department, including possible standalone stores.
Launching this September, River Island Home will feature a 160-piece collection, showcasing the brand’s signature style across soft furnishings, home accessories, furniture and storage, all with the aim of helping customers to refresh and update their home seasonally.
Ranging fromscatter tables toMongolian fur cushions and fromluxury candles to diffusers, each piece has received thebrand's signature dash of glamour and playfulness.
“The launch heralds the beginning of an exciting chapter for us”, saysDayna Sofair, Head of Homeware Buying.“Style doesn’t end at our clothes. Where we eat, the fragrance we wear and way we decorate our homes says as much about us as our favourite pair of jeans”, she continues.“With this in mind, we wanted to give our customer the chance to bring some of that signature River Island style and personality out of the wardrobe and into their homes”.
The range will be broken down into three key looks; Babydoll Rock & Roll (‘a kitsch and cheeky collection’), Electric Opulence (for ‘lavish tastes’) and New Nordic (stripped-back Scandi style).By creating homeware edits for each trend, RI Home hope to make it easier to shop different trends and looks, and update home interiors seasonally.
Babydoll Rock & Roll will feature splashes of bold colours, touches of leopard, ombre and slogan designs to create a kitschy collection complete withluxe leopard ornaments, pastel vases, iridescent sequin beaded cushions, colourful faux furs lip print cushions and slogan candles, to“add feminine touches with a quirky edge”.
Meanwhile,Electric Opulence is about adding a “sophisticated luxury feel with added personality” with its moody and dark base of rich colours, antique trinket boxes, paisley prints, soft faux fur rugs and velvety cushions for a more sophisticated luxury feel.
Nordic Nomad will take cues from Scandinavian design with a neutral colour palette and geometric influences, offering lots of warm neutrals peppered with metallics.
Expect shimmering golds, contemporary marble, winter rugs, pouffes and fluffy storage baskets.Key pieces include hexagonal side tables, vintage inspired hanging picture frames, agate coasters and book ends.
Judging by the pieces in their debut collection we can tell that River Island Home will be packed withdesign-led pieces, trend driven prints and patterns, plus River Island's signature glam style.
We can't wait to shop their kitsch Christmas range too...
