Pearl Lowe gives her rock 'n' roll wallpaper a zesty spring re-fresh
Pearl Lowe gives her wallpaper designs from Woodchip & Magnolia a fresh and zesty spring makeover.
Known for her love of vintage glamour and gorgeous interiors, singer-songwriter turned fashion and textile designer Pearl Lowe has just unveiled her latest wallpapers for British textiles brand, Woodchip & Magnolia. The new papers are a mix of her popular chintzy designs but in eight new, fresh colourways for spring.
If you haven't seen the designs before, you'd be forgiven for thinking they look a bit chintzy and granny-chic, but mark our words this style is making a comeback and grandma-style patterns are all the rage with cool, young interiors fans. Dubbed 'grandmillennial style', the look is all about twee chinzy florals like this.

The eight new colourways are across Pearl’s popular Wisteria, Faded Glamour and Va Va Frome designs. Fruity yellows, brooding greens, and fun pinks play alongside mature greys and oatmeal. Unmistakably ‘Pearl’ in style – the new wallpapers reflect her life-long passion for vintage, faded glamour, heritage prints, flapper-girl decadence and country house opulence – all mashed up with a smattering of pure rock n’ roll!
Commenting on the collection, Pearl said 'I’ve been designing these prints in my head for years, drawing on the many influences in my life.' It's no secret that Pearl Lowe is a fan of mixing traditional florals up with a rock 'n' roll vibe, and her 11-bedroom Georgian mansion in Somerset is an eclectic mix of traditional and mad rock 'n' roll style.

In her bedroom, a neon light-up sign glows against traditional wallpaper and a vintage bed.
Heritage prints clearly inspired the collection, as did a love of country house opulence, 1920s style and everything rock 'n' roll. Lowe says her original wallpaper designs for Woodchip & Magnolia are an eclectic mix of vintage inspired florals, geometric prints and classic animal prints – something which her family home is also full of.

Keeping it close to home, Pearl’s inspiration for her Wisteria design is literally her own back-garden. 'I only realised how beautiful wisteria was when we bought a house along a river. The wisteria came out in May and it was the most enchanting thing I ever saw,' she commented.

Meanwhile Va Va Frome in Noir Green is brooding and defiant, and makes no apologies for its decadence.
The pattern also comes in new Meadow Green, which is more vibrant, airy and fresh.

Inspired by Pearl’s own signature style, Faded Glamour epitomises rustic opulence.
