And it's not hard to see why. We're often looking for easy ways to give a room a stylish refresh, and rugs are a quick and easy solution. Moroccan rugs, in particular, serve up the perfect mix of tradition and an on-trend aesthetic; of stylish statement-making and cosy comfort.

Jane Rockett, Co-founder of Rockett St George, says: 'Rugs transform a room and are wonderful for creating harmony, texture, pattern and ultimately a cosy lived-in feel in your home. As a result, they are our go-to solution for adding comfort and warmth to the home and classic styles like Moroccan Berber rugs never fail to impress. Although Moroccan rugs are a key interiors trend, we truly believe these statement home accessories are a timeless addition that will be treasured for many years to come. Celebrating the incredible craftsmanship of the Berber tribes, authentic Moroccan Berber rugs embrace simple geometric patterns and a chic monochrome colour palette that brings a sense of softness to your home décor.'
Shaggy long-pile Berber rugs are often muted or monochrome, while flatweave Kilim rugs, that commonly adorn tents of the Berber tribes in the desert, are bright and colourful, so there's a Moroccan rug for every taste. We've picked out five of our current favourites below... We'll take one of each, please.

The 5 Moroccan Rugs We're Coveting
1. MOHAN FLATWEAVE REVERSIBLE RUG, HABITAT
'For summer we’ve taken traditional Kilim inspired rugs based around triangle and diamond motifs which we’ve then interpreted onto our reversible Mohan flat weave rugs in bright colours, which give you two looks so you can have a refresh when you feel like it,' says Martha Coates, Pattern Designer for Habitat.
'Our Berber and Eleise rugs are a version of a quite traditional white and black Moroccan rug with high shaggy pile, and we have other versions in this technique (Simone, Kew) where we incorporate contemporary Habitat pattern.' We love the earthy yet glamorous turmeric tones of the Mohan for a pop of colour that's not overstated.
