Hive updates its home security
Home security gets a sleek, stylish update with the launch of the smart View camera from Hive.
What makes it so 'smart'? Apart from being the brainchild of Swiss uber-designer Yves Behar, it's both stylish and useful. You can disconnect the lightweight camera from its ultra thin stand, moving it around to different corners of your home. Handy for checking up on kids, checking up on the grandparents or keeping an eye on high-value items when you're away on holiday.
And it's not just for shelves and table-tops; the magnetic mount means you can fix it to walls, furniture, in dark corners and even on the ceiling.
People-only detection settings will ensure no false alarms are triggered by the dog, while 130 degree field of view and live-streaming straight to your smartphone covers any security blind spots. It can even see in the dark.
Once triggered, it'llautomatically start recording and send a notification to let you know what's going on on the home front.
Plus, it works within minutes of unboxing and is super simple to set up, so even tech-novices can manage it.
But best of all? Unlike most security cameras it actually looks rather nice.
Available in Black & Brushed Copper or White & Champagne Gold, theHive View starts from £189 or £319 for a two camera pack.
