Fresh updates for kitchens, bathrooms and big projects
PAINT PARTY
Indecisive when faced with a colour card? Not to worry – Bisque’s latest look sees its Classic radiators splashed with up to six shades to create an ombre-effect finish. Match shades from the likes of Farrow & Ball and Little Greene and suddenly your radiator is more desirable design object than practical plumbing device.
HEAVY METAL
Unusual metals are de rigueur in today’s most fashion-forward bathrooms. Get in on the act with the Alto range from Aston Matthews, promising taps, shower valves and matching accessories in solid brass with an aged bronze, not-too-blingy finish.
CLUB TROPICANA
Tile emporium Claybrook might have recently opened a shop on Shoreditch’s Curtain Road, yet it’s the vibrant shades and intricate patterns found on the streets of Cuba that inspire its latest collection. We’re keen on Cabana – a long format brick tile brought bang up to date with a matt finish in shades of Coconut, Cocktail, Sunrise, Surf and Storm (pictured).
IN THE HOOD
Kitchen appliances get the star treatment at Falmec. Much more than a mere extractor, the Spazio system, designed by Francesco Lucchese, features a suspended hood fitted with a hanging rail for utensils, USB ports and a large lighting surface, with optional add-ons including a spice shelf, tablet holder and ‘indoor garden’ for growing herbs. Wowza!
Clean up
A carefully-curated wardrobe deserves the closet to match, guarding against pollutants, allergens, bacteria and – perish the thought – mould. New from Italian firm Lema, a hi-tech Air Cleaning System uses nanotechnology, a special UV lamp and photocatalytic oxidation (used to purify aerospace environments) to naturally destroy unwanted elements during 2-8 hour cycles. Install as an add-on to the brand’s Armadioal Centimetro wardrobes and sleep easy knowing your clothes are in safe hands.
Brasswareto boast about
If you consider the bathroom a sanctuary for all-out luxury, why stop short at your taps? The Portofino collection from West One Bathrooms features designs in five metallic finishes, many with elegant marble handles. We’d call that the cherry on the, erm, tap.
