Collab Alert: Timorous Beasties X Bill Amberg Leather Hides

Following the success of its pattern-tastic carpet collaboration with Brintons,Scottish design studio Timorous Beasties has developed a new range of statement floor designs – this time withleather expert Bill Amberg.

Known for its surreal textiles and wallpapers, Timorous Beasties created a wild splatter pattern, using oldinks and wallpaper cores that were originally destined for the recycling bin and turning them into a fresh new pattern of wildsplats, dribbles and marbling.

The results were then scanned into the computer, cleaned up, put back together and digitally printed onto Bill Amberg'sleather cow hide rugs.

The colourful new hide forms part of a series Amberg will present during London Design Festival 2018 this September, as part of the Electroanalogue exhibition of digital innovations at Tom Dixon's new King's Cross studio The Coal Office.

Amberg's series of hides will also feature collaborations between Amberg and Tom Dixon, Faye Toogood, Alexandra Champalimaud and Natasha Baradaran – each designer having developed a unique graphic for the skins.

Bill Amberg Print products, including “Omni Drips”by Timorous Beasties, will be available to purchase via billamberg.com and selected trade partners, from £850 per hide.

These hides will be display for the duration of London Design Festival at Tom Dixon’s new King’s Cross HQ, The Coal Office, as part of Tom Dixon’s Electroanalogue gathering of digital innovations.
