See inside Tom Ford's former London home
The interiors remain untouched since the American fashion designer renovated the property
Tom Ford's former London home has just come back on the market, offering us a glimpse inside his seriously chic interiors.
The American fashion designer and filmmaker designed the interiors himself, after he gutted the 3705 square foot townhouse and renovated it to his specifications.
The three bedroom Chelsea townhouse features stunning living spaces, a landscaped garden, home gym, steam room, wine cellar, laundry room and boot room, as well as a modern kitchen which connects to the formal dining room via a dumbwaiter.
Located in SW10 The Boltons, the Chelsea townhouse offers both privacy and an open, bright layout. An exterior wall wraps around the property, offering complete privacy. Once you’re behind the wall, no one can see in – but it’s still light and open, according to the listing agent.
Tom Ford, 59, served as the creative director of both Gucci and YSL before launching his own eponymous fashion brand in 2006.
He applied his eye for style on the interiors of his three-bedroom home, which include a staircase of white alabaster, black polished glass, Makassar wood and stainless steel walls, and a black marble floor.
On the ground floor there's a formal dining room and a reception room with French doors leading to the west-facing garden.
The interiors feature sleek metallic wall treatments and a mix of light-and-dark colours that give the space a modern feel throughout the four floors.
The listing confirms that the interiors have been mostly untouched since Tom Ford lived there.
The gym and steam room, wine cellar, laundry and cloakroom are on the lower ground floor, along with the kitchen which is connected to the dining room upstairs via a dumbwaiter. Downstairs there's also a guest bedroom.
A stylish home office sits on the first floor, alongside a second guest bedroom.
The master suite sits up on the top floor, and consists of a generous master bedroom, ensuite bathroom and stylish dressing room.
Despite the exciting interiors, the exterior is very traditional and is in line with that of the neighbouring homes; this is because the street falls within The Boltons Conservation Area.
The Boltons is renowned for being a quiet enclave which is just a short walk from Chelsea's fashionable restaurants, shops and galleries.
Other current or former residents in the area include/d Yves Saint Laurent, Liz Hurley, Hugh Grant, Rowan Atkinson, David Bowie and George Michael.
Aside from his career in fashion, Tom Ford also directed a number of award-winning films including A Single Man and Nocturnal Animals, and he currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of the Council of Fashion Designers of America.
His former Chelsea townhouse is for sale through Knight Frank.
