THE PROPERTY

A Victorian house in east London. On the ground floor there’s a hallway, double living room and extended kitchen-diner. The first floor comprises the master bedroom, a bedroom, bathroom and WC. The loft conversion housesa guest bedroom suite.

HALLWAY

The lights in the hallway (pictured above) were found at a Connaught Hotel sale during a hotel refurbishment.

LIVING ROOM

The living room sticks to a trad palette for the paintwork. A pop art print, Sixties pendant and modernist armchair put the fizz in the formula.

Green and pink work well together in this unusual scheme.

The ottoman and sofa are upholstered in the same fabric and the colour is further pulled together by notes of pink in the artwork.

DINING AREA

Dark-wood finishes anda chic rust-effect steel table complement each other perfectly.

The artwork in the dining areamakes a striking visual display.

KITCHEN

At the back of the building, the kitchen was extended into the side return, with a huge skylight and double doors added to bring in much-needed light.

The newly enlarged kitchen space was embellished with herringbone parquet flooring, green marble work surfaces and resplendent brass-clad units, in a topsy-turvy remix of traditional Victorian materials.

FAMILY BATHROOM

The look is kept simplewith aqua metro tiles and graphic flooring.

CLOAKROOM

This hand-painted de Gournay wallpaper was originally spottedat Mosimann’s Club in London’s Belgravia.

MASTER BEDROOM

Who says clashing pattern has to be overpowering? Even with multi-layered fabrics and a bedspread from India, the overall look is chilled.

The plain walls and wooden floor keep it allin check.

GIRLS' ROOM

Vintage prints and a patchwork throw dial down the cute factor.
