This modernist home designed by architect Ray Kappe is currently on the market – take a look inside
The exquisitely crafted California haven is a stylish space with an enduring appeal
An Encino-based property designed by celebrated architect Ray Kappe is currently listed for sale for $4.45 million. Ray's seminal work on The Strimling House was artistically curated to pay homage to its tropical environment, most notably through natural, sustainable elements, including stone and wood.
The Agency, who hold the listing, have praised the modern home for its 'layer upon layer of innovative and intelligent design,' which acts as the architect's supremely stylish signature.
American architect Ray Kappe rose to prominence after founding, what is now known as, the Southern California Institute of Architecture, along with his wife, Shelly Kappe. Following the turn of the millennium, Ray worked with LivingHomes to expertly design modern modular homes across California. This 1964 home, located at 17269 Oak View Drive, is among one of the most celebrated of Ray Kappe's designs.
The 4,018 square foot two-storey home boasts four bedrooms, four bathrooms, and a chic open plan dining and living room that epitomizes San Fernando Valley design. There is also a wood-glazed retro kitchen and an office space, where you can indulge in views of the sun-glazed West Coastal jungle through its statement glass windows.

This property's colorful aura continues into the verdant exterior, thanks to its iconic long driveway - complete with an iconic long driveway that leads to a swimming pool and hot tub. There is also a waterfall that flows amid a maze of trees and a vast emerald yard, which makes this the ultimate Californian dream home. Craig Knizek of The Agency currently holds the listing.
Though we see no reason to leave this modernist utopia, the neighborhood beyond its gates is equally tempting. The heart of Encino city is less than a 30-minute walk and includes a strip of Lebanese and Mediterranean restaurants that share a zipcode with the prestigious El Caballero Country Club.

However, we confess, we're still going to need some convincing away from the comforts of the painfully stylish home.
