Livingetc Style Awards 2022 winners: Kitchens and Bathrooms category
The winners of the Kitchens and Bathrooms category of Livingetc's Style Awards 2022 are announced
As chosen by our judges, Livingetc editor Pip Rich, Livingetc Editorial Director Sarah Spiteri, designers Alice Temperley, Eva Sonaike and Staffan Tollgard and journalist, broadcaster and tastemaker Pandora Sykes, these are best kitchen and bathroom related designs of the year, from whole rooms to the fitting and fixtures.
BEST KITCHEN INNOVATION - winner: BONHAM BY BLAKES LONDON
A kitchen created with biophilic principles at its core. Blakes London helped achieve the incorporation of a 1.5m-long marble planter to be used as a herb and plant trough.
‘I absolutely love this idea – it takes upstands to the next level,’ says Eva Sonaike.

BEST kitchen - winner: BESPOKE KITCHEN BY ROUNDHOUSE
A kitchen that ticks the boxes on form and functionality. The kitchen cabinetry is finished in the warm, muted Farrow & Ball Setting Plaster and is combined with finishes of antique brass on the island and tinted bronze mirror splashback.
‘It has all the elements of luxury and practicality and a clever combination of materials,’ says Pip Rich.

BEST KITCHEN SURFACE - winner: EMERALD BY LUNDHS REAL STONE
The darkest in the Lundhs Real Stone collection, the Norwegian stone is a blend of glistening blue feldspar crystals. Boasting high heat, water, scratch, UV and stain resistance, Emerald is not just an eye-catching hue but is easy to maintain.
‘The stone is very appealing to look at and this is an interesting new direction
for the brand,’ says Pip Rich.

BEST KITCHEN FIXTURE - winner: ON TAP BY WATERWORKS
The On Tap kitchen tap is the classic draft beer tap, reinterpreted for modern homes. The intricate detailing and craftsmanship makes a statement and the faucet is available in new mixed materials and finishes.
‘I love the combination of materials here – it’s a really inspired take on a tap,’ says Sarah Spiteri.

BEST kitchen - wise buy - winner: Wren Kitchens
This kitchen is an elegant design with classic detail, offered at Wren's more approachable pricing. The combination of a monochrome palette with luxurious textures gives the look an enduring appeal.
‘There are some strong design credentials at a relatively affordable price,’ says Sarah Spiteri.

BEST SUSTAINABLE APPLIANCE - winner: ECOSPEED HEAT PUMP TUMBLE DRYER BY MIELE
The EcoSpeed range offers significantly better energy ratings and reduces the average drying time by 20 minutes thanks to the use of an environmentally friendly R290 gas. The dryer has a PowerFresh option to freshen up dry clothes.
‘It has a dispenser for scented oil, which I love,’ says Staffan Tollgård.

BEST BATHROOM COLLECTION - winner: MARC NEWSON FOR DRUMMONDS

BEST BATHROOM SURFACE - winner: METEORA GRIS BY CRL STONE
Inspired by the natural tones of marble, yet with all the durability and versatility that
ceramic offers, Meteora Gris is available in three thicknesses – 6mm, 12mm and 20mm – the slimmest of which can be used for bathroom walls to create a spa-like, wetroom-style shower area.
‘It’s a great ceramic with a beautiful textured finish and it’s also cost-effective over large surfaces,’ says Sarah Spiteri.

BEST BRASSWARE - winner: Epoch by C.P. Hart
Epoch is a classical brassware range manufactured in Britain. Echoing the glamour
of the art deco era, it combines swivel spouts and crosshead handles with etched detailing, available in eight finishes.
‘It is simple and effective and also feels nice to hold, which is important - but surprisingly often overlooked - with a tap,’ says Pip Rich.
