Airbnb is offering 12 people the opportunity to move home for free for a year
From Paris to Milan and Los Angeles – your WFH backdrop has never looked quite so chic
There is no doubt that the last year has re-shaped our working habits, but Airbnb is taking this newfound nomadic lifestyle to a super-stylish new level – and anyone can get involved.
The rental site has announced the launch of their ‘Live Anywhere on Airbnb’ program, which will allow 12 individuals, and up to three companions to live and work exclusively from Airbnb properties for a year.
So you can elevate morning instant coffee to a cortado in Rome or spend your lunch break on the sands of San Tropez. And that’s even before we start talking about the modern home listings in Copenhagen and the post-work cocktails in Vegas.
The chosen 12 have the chance to live anywhere in the world from July 2021 to July 2022, with at least ten months of this year, including traveling to and living in properties on Airbnb. The company asks that the nomads share their experiences in order to help them better accommodate customers who will work from an Airbnb listing in the future.
This knowledge will help the site adapt its resources for long-term living while learning about the financial benefits of Hosting while traveling and the best types of accommodation for different types of guests.
Yes, you just need to work from home (or the beach or cafe), feedback your experiences, and Airbnb will pay for the listing and transportation throughout the year.

The site launched the program following its recent report on Travel & Living that noticed a ten percent increase in stays 28 days or longer in 2021. Plus, 11 percent of these long-term bookers shared they had a ‘nomadic lifestyle’ and 74 percent of respondents revealed they had an interest in living far away from their work, even when the pandemic resolves.
The participants will follow in the footsteps of full-time travelers Debbie and Michael Campbell, who are better known as the Senior Nomads. The couple, who retired in 2013, is exploring the world but staying in ‘one Airbnb at a time’ and have stayed in over 270 properties to date.
The pair label the experience of living in an Airbnb as ‘transformational,’ before adding that the program will offer nomads the opportunity to ‘ to see the world through a whole new lens’. ‘We’re excited to see more people living and working from wherever they choose,’ Debbie adds.

So, we can enjoy Scandi-cool furnishings in Scandinavia one day and an urban garden in New York the next. The future of remote work looks very stylish, and we’re very excited.
