IKEA designed their AW21 collection to ‘stand the test of time’ – here are our five favorite pieces

The Swedish interiors house has swapped seasonal trends for sustainable statements – and we struggled to choose the stand-outs

IKEA has just softened the end of summer with the launch of their new AW21 Transitions collection – a mystical ode to the season ahead.

Categorized into three transitions: Global Influences, Mys and Festivities, and Refresh Renew and Rejuvenate, this moody-chic collection is perhaps the only thing that will ease us into the cooler months without too much heartache along the way.

And while the entire launch has already reshaped our home decor ideas, we’ve selected our five favorite pieces that we’re adding to our blue bags at the earliest opportunity. We’ll race you to the checkout.

1. MÅNALG wall lamp

With its escapist aesthetic and retro rattan hues, the allure behind the MÅNALG wall lamp is somewhat inevitable.

Aptly stemming from the Global Influences category, this lamp provokes visions of post-pandemic travel whilst curating a wanderlust sanctuary to travel away from the every day, in the chicest way possible.

Like all pieces from the collection, the lamp is a blend of handcrafted and natural materials – so you can rest easy that your new light crush is as ethical as it is stylish. Need we go on?

2. PEDERSBORG rug

The second piece from the Global Influences category – and next on our lust list – is the PEDERSBORG – a rustically ornate rug that will rewrite your flooring ideas

From its distinctive threading to its versatile neutral tones that sit effortlessly alongside a monochromatic scheme, this rug is the nod to faraway shores that your minimalist scheme needs.

3. FRIKOSTIG bowl

They say the best things in life are free, but the FRIKOSTIG certainly comes close. The bowl – from the Mys and Festivities collection – will add hints of happiness to your breakfast routine whilst making table trends. And the best part? It costs only £1 (approximately $1.4).

For the ultimate interior design idea, pile the bowl alongside another piece of crockery for a traditional tablescape that will be the talking point of your dinner parties throughout autumn and beyond.

4. BRUNSTARR cushion cover

Completing the Global Influences hat trick, the BRUNSTARR is our new favorite way to inject patterns into even the most minimalistic of schemes.

With its handwoven details and Aztec-inspired aesthetic, the BRUNSTARR offers just enough color to keep your palette looking Scandi-cool – and ever so fun. This is the modern rustic living room idea that will set trends this fall.

5. LERBODA frame

It’s no secret that we’re big into gallery walls, but IKEA has just offered a solution for those photos that should stand individually. Enter, the LERBODA – a transportable frame from Refresh Renew and Rejuvenate – that will look good wherever it stands.

However, we recommend pairing its pink tones alongside an abundance of house plants or alongside a neutral wall where the frame can make the statement it deserves.

We’ll have more information on when you can pick up these products – and the entire AW21 Transitions collection just as soon as we know. Not to dream away the end of summer, but we’re ready to bring these pieces into your interiors right now.
