Take a peek at IKEA’s latest collection for the summer – including our Editor’s best picks
Be prepared for a summer of Scandinavian style with these Editor-approved best buys
The only thing better than a new IKEA launch is when an interior expert shares their expertise on what you need to buy. So, we’re in luck because not only has our favorite Swedish home decor powerhouse released a new S/S ‘21 collection but our Editor, Pip McCormac, has offered his curated picks of the pieces you need to add to your basket, or blue bag, asap.
The collection that lands in IKEA stores this April is constructed of a series of sustainable pieces that pay homage to the spirit of summer and inject new life into both your homes and gardens. Stand-out pieces include the TRUBBNATE pendant lampshade, among other 1970s inspired accessories, and the FÄLTMAL quillow that has already shaken up both the interior and fashion worlds.
To ensure the sunnier days ahead are even brighter, browse our Editor's Picks that will spark joy across your interior and exterior spaces.
FRÖJERED Kitchen Fronts
It is perhaps hard to imagine an IKEA before the new FRÖJERED kitchen cabinets, as they epitomize everything the chain is known and loved for. The fronts are sustainably made from natural bamboo that is praised for its durability, while the integrated handles offer a contemporary designer look that will fit effortlessly in any modern kitchen. Why not invest? If you’re going to host a house party again, you also need to make sure your kitchen is dressed for the occasion.
BORGEBY Coffee Table
If you didn’t love circular furniture already, you certainly will after seeing the BORGEBY coffee table. Not only is this statement piece effortlessly chic, but it is undeniably practical, too, thanks to its large storage space underneath the table. It also promotes coffee drinking, which is never a bad thing.
PÅDRAG Vase
In a bid to inject some retro nostalgia into their summer series, IKEA has re-invented some home accessories that never go out of style – including a humble glass vase. Cue PÅDRAG, a transparent vase that exhibits spring garden floors or stands alone, as it is designed to reflect light around your room. Plus, for only £1 ($1.49), there’s nothing not to love about the PÅDRAG.
PIMPERNOT Duvet Cover and Pillowcase
With a huge emphasis on textiles during this collection, it is unsurprising the PIMPERNOT patterned cover and pillowcase are among our Editor's picks. The vivid geometric covers are made from 80% cotton, and 20% viscose, which IKEA suggests will keep you at a cooler temperature during the hot summer nights.
We already know what Jared Leto’s go-to IKEA piece is, but has the new collection changed your firm favorite? The only way to know is to try them out.
