IKEA’s new limited edition collection is a celebration of nostalgic dried flowers and rusty autumnal hues
Dare we mention autumn? Of course, we can, when the season will look this stylish
While we’re spending the weekend bathing in the sun and sipping aperitifs from our favorite outdoor furnishings, IKEA has turned our thoughts to the cooler months ahead. The beloved decor powerhouse has just revealed Höstkväll, a new limited edition collection that draws from autumn’s organic palette to create rustic pieces that ooze pure seasonal style.
The series has just reset our modern home decorating ideas and reminded us that there is an ultra-fashionable season at the end of these sun-drenched days. Needless to say, we're lusting over every single piece.
Translating to ‘autumn evening’ in Swedish, IKEA designed Höstkväll as the beautiful backdrop to your future dinner parties, or so, IKEA’s Interior Design Manager, Clotilde Passalacqua, suggests. Clotilde hopes the collection will prompt you to experiment with autumnal dishes that are best enjoyed with good company and great furnishings.
Highlights include the ornamental pumpkins and the gray pie dish. That’s right, gray’s ever-fashionable hues are not set to waver in popularity this autumn, especially if IKEA is involved in keeping them trendy. Their towels similarly exude a certain Nordic aesthetic that is beautifully minimalistic – and almost too pristine to use.
Plus, these pieces may be setting the tone for our kitchens and dining rooms, but Höstkväll is at the forefront of our modern living room ideas too. We’re particularly taking note of the leaf-printed cushion covers and delicate dried flowers, which include thistles and Echinops, for a Scandinavian twist on the cottagecore craze.
The collection also includes a tasseled blanket that will bless your soft furnishings or keep you warm if you take the party outside.
These richly colored pieces pair particularly effortlessly alongside your rattan furnishings, or in neutral painted spaces where their sophisticated hues create an unrivaled statement that is oh-so fitting for the season. We’re not saying we’re on the countdown to autumn, but IKEA has made the transition look instantly more appealing.
Though IKEA is yet to share an official launch date, we’ve already planned our living and modern kitchen ideas with these charming pieces in mind.
