Design news - Giorgetti opens its first standalone London store
Luxe Italian furniture brand Giorgetti opens its first standalone UK store
The luxury Italian design brand Giorgetti has been making and manufacturing furniture since 1898, and has now opened its first standalone London store.
Located in the design district of Fulham Road, it's the perfect outpost for Giorgetti's take on modern furniture design. Every single item is made in Italy by highly skilled artisans who bring a unique sense of personality to each piece.
Here in the UK, we've seen a natural embrace of the textures and materials Giorgetti is known for, the brand's signature smooth walnut finishes, its caramel-soft leather and its gently curved shapes fitting perfectly into the way British people like to decorate right now.
The Ripple chair, seen above, facing back towards the photographer, would fit perfectly into a modern townhouse. Its low round cushion and enveloping back is both formal and informal, inviting and smart. It's a classic example of Giorgetti skill - the smoothly curved frame is only possible because of the brand's in depth knowledge of cabinetry, which translates into furniture making, and its technological innovation.
To see the whole collection in all its glory, visit the new Giorgetti showroom, 54 Fulham Rd, South Kensington, London SW3 6HH, giorgettimeda.com
