Big news! The Garmin Fenix 7 is suddenly at its lowest price ever (and we think it's better than a Fitbit)

There is so much landing in the Black Friday sales right now that it's quite hard to keep track. But when we were looking at smartwatches earlier in the year, this Garmin model came out particularly highly against its competition, so I've been keeping a close eye on its pricing.

And in the latest round of Black Friday deals, it turns out the Garmin Fenix 7 is now $100 off in every color and configuration. As one of the best fitness trackers around, this is an incredible deal. It's particularly good for anyone who is into outdoor sports - running, hiking or just even just gentle dog walks. 

At its new price, the Garmin Fenix 7 is now $599 at Walmart, down from $699.

Why you would want a Garmin Fenix 7

I know that Fitbit is the famous smartwatch, and possibly the one you'd gravitate towards. The word 'fitbit' as almost become a catch-all term, referring to any fitness tracker. But beyond its ubiquity, the Garmin watches have many of the same qualities and - in fact - are often better.

Where the Garmin is let down is on the design - it's not as slimline or subtle as a Fitbit. But in the Fitbit vs Garmin debate it wins in every other category.  It has a touch screen, up to 57 hours of battery life once fully charged and its GPS capability is legendary. It'll get you up a mountain, through a forest...or even just round your local neighborhood. 

Garmins are compatible with all Androids and iPhones and will monitor all of the key metrics in your workouts. Our reviewer, Shannon L. Flynn, said she liked Garmin smart watches because Garmin they 'have guided breathing exercises, women’s health tracking and stress monitoring'. 

And when it comes to pricing, the Garmin Fenix 7 is a lot cheaper than products like the Apple Watch Ultra, which is currently about $180 more, taking into account current sale prices.

As for this sapphire solar edition Fenix 7, the watches have a titanium bezel (which is stronger than the stainless steel bezels). So if you're prone to bashing or dropping (surely not just me) then this is the one for you.
