The iconic London hotel The Berkeley is bringing the quintessentially British seaside spirit to the streets of Knightsbridge – complete with retro decor, nostalgic cuisine, and mermaid-inspired cocktails. The aptly named Berkeley Beach Huts are a collection of five rainbow-glazed huts that celebrate the charm of the British coastline amongst the beating heart of the capital.

While we're attracted by The Berkeley Beach Hut's fun-infused menu, we're primarily lusting over the beach huts' exquisite Cape Cod interiors that pay homage to nautical home decor – one of the most enduring trends to date.

Each space is curated to celebrate signature nautical elegance, with a contemporary twist, in true Berkeley style. Stand-out features include the indulgent sea-life-themed soft furnishings and circular mirrors that mimic portholes from a boat.

However, perhaps the most notable nautical feature is the bold striped exterior, which, as buying and merchandising manager at Arlo & Jacob, Laura Barnard suggests, are 'instantly associated with the nautical trend. 'Re-invented Post-Modern classics are having a moment. From razor-thin Breton stripes to broad and bold stripes are reminiscent of summer days,' she adds.

The Berkeley has also dressed the huts with glass vases and candles as a subtle reminder that these are the most luxurious beach huts in the country. The hotel's indulgent twist on seaside classics continues throughout its cuisine – with chefs serving up a sumptuous twist on Britain's beloved fish and chips by serving up plates of grilled sea trout, sea bass, and lobster with fries.

These fish and chips, along with the other culinary delights, are inspired by Britain's most prestigious seafood havens, including Whitstable, Southwold, and Padstow.

Plus, the iconic 99 ice cream has also received a gourmet makeover, while drinks include cocktails with sea-life appropriate names, including Mermaid Shell, Pink Pearl, and Sailor Sour.

These stylish beach huts are now open at The Berkeley on Wilton Place in London. More detail is available on their website, where guests can book slots for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
