These chic and cozy items have me ready to host my next house party
It's time to elevate my space
Most Curated is a monthly series in which one editor, team member, or friend of Livingetc will share the top 15 items on their current wish list.
I don't know about you, but as soon as the weather gets into the chilly category, I have an urge to tone down everything and adopt a more pared-back approach. This is mostly to distance myself from the bright hues that pepper my home during summer, as at the end of the year, I gravitate toward cooler tones.
But that does not mean I want a cold space, quite the opposite actually. I like to incorporate neutral shades such as creams and browns because when paired together, they bring a warm and cozy feel to my whole space.
My search for such pieces started and ended at Net-a-Porter as I combed through the retailer's home section to find chic, clean pieces I could add to my home without making too much of a fuss. Soho Home's Prato bookends were first to go in my cart. Inspired by the décor of London's 180 House, their brown marble makes for the perfect statement piece. A cream porcelain dinner set was of course a must, along with a matching teapot—as a Brit, I always have time for afternoon tea. Wool-blend throws and cushions from Brunello Cucinelli and Loewe were my next obvious necessities. Below, take a look at these and more of the 15 home décor items I'm buying this fall, just in time for my next house party.
This picture was originally shot by fashion photographer Guy Bourdin for Vogue France in December 1976 and is the perfect addition to my home.
Mud Australia is a brand "keen on elevating simple moments at home," according to the product description, and this cream porcelain teapot is the perfect example of this. I'll be hosting many afternoon teas with this at center stage.
The Rosso Levanto marble of these statement bookends makes them work on their own.
This gorgeous cushion has been on my wish list for a while, and I'm finally bringing it home for lazy days on the couch with a cup of hot cocoa.
My mom recommended these to me, and they've received so many compliments! Brunello Cucinelli always gets it right no matter the product.
I've been meaning to rotate out my current vases for some fresh pieces, and this ceramic vase by Louise Roe, inspired by the Venus of Willendorf, is perfect.
A classic leather tray to keep all my trinkets in one place for a less scattered and more put-together space.
This throw is made from alpaca and wool-blend yarns with a neutral color stripe design, making it the softest and chicest item in my cart.
This bowl will add a dark, earthy feel to any coffee table.
I can't have new décor without a new scent to go with it. This Diptyque reed diffuser is made with a blend of bark, leaves, and citrus scents.
Another bowl for all my trinkets, rings, and such—this time it's heart shaped and made from onyx, which is said to have protective energy.
A classic 16-piece table set I'm replacing my square plates with this season.
I love having a notebook lying around the house because I always need to jot something down. The mauve Smythson leather notebook matches my new aesthetic perfectly.
You can't go wrong with a cream merino wool throw from Johnstons of Elgin.
A rose-scented candle is the final item to bring the whole space together.
